A Modern Sabre is used (about 1 metre long and flexible), which is lighter than the traditional Broadsword, in order to enhance the speed with safety.

The BroadSword routine (Dao Shu) is one of the International Competition routines, and it will be included in the 2008 Olympic games in China.
