Shaolin Long Fist
(Chang Chuan)

Shaolin Long Fist (Chang Chuan) is the 'Brave Father' of all Kung Fu styles, it is the oldest known documented Martial Art, and goes back over 1,600 years.

Long Fist traditionally relies on active footwork, to penetrate an opponent's defences. It contains a mixture of both hard and soft techniques (Internal and External), and is the most exciting Art in Wushu.

Modern Wushu has been adopted for the 2008 Olympic Games in China, as a demonstration piece. It is very suitable for the games as it is gymnastic and beautiful in it's speed, fluidity and movement.

Beginners classes are held every Tuesday 7-8pm, at Beeston and are taught by the Chief Instructor and National Coach Sifu John Read .
